কাকা ইবনে আমর আত তামিমি ছিলেন বনু তামিম গোত্রের ব্যক্তি। আহনাফ ইবনে কায়েসের সময়ে তিনি মুসলমান হন। ইয়ারমুকের যুদ্ধ এবং কাদিসিয়ার যুদ্ধে খালিদ বিন ওয়ালিদের নেতৃত্বে রাশিদুন সেনাবাহিনীর সেনাদলগুলোর একটির সেনাপ্রধান হিসেবে তিনি দায়িত্ব পালন করেন এবং দুটোতেই বিজয় অর্জন করেন| খলিফা থাকাকালে আবু বকর তাকে একবার এগারোহাজার সৈন্যের সমতুল্য বলে প্রশংসা করেছিলেন।
